Self-Performance Is the Whole Model

We own the fleet, staff the crews, and stand behind the outcome. When the work isn't handed down a chain of subcontractors, quality, schedule, and safety don't drift.

About CS Underground

One Accountable Partner, Bore to Backfill

CS Underground Infrastructure builds the underground systems the country depends on — power delivery, natural gas and liquids transmission, telecommunications and fiber, and water and wastewater. As a self-performing contractor, we own our fleet and crews rather than brokering the work to subcontractors, giving clients one accountable partner for quality, schedule, and safety across multi-state programs.

What sets us apart isn't only that we run the iron — it's who's running it. Our people have built this infrastructure from the operator's seat and managed it from the owner's chair. We've been the contractor in the field and the customer signing off on the work, which means we scope, document, and communicate the way owners actually need — not the way that's easiest for a contractor.

That dual perspective runs deepest in the two arenas where underground execution is least forgiving: telecommunications outside plant — metro and long-haul alike — and oil and gas. It's the reason a bore path, a duct bank, or a fiber pull from CS Underground arrives engineered, restored, and backed by records your reviewers can stand behind.

Industry Experience

Both Sides of the Table

Decades of combined experience — self-performing the work in the field and leading the programs from the customer side. That's a rare combination in underground construction, and it's the core of how we operate.

01

Operators, Not Brokers

Hands-on, self-performed execution across every core method — directional drilling, trenching, plowing, micro-trenching, fiber placement, and hydro-excavation. When leadership has run the rig, the estimate and the schedule are grounded in what the field actually does.

02

Experience on the Owner's Side

Our leadership has sat in the customer's chair — planning, awarding, and accepting underground programs. We know what a clean as-built, a defensible safety record, and a straight answer are worth, because we've been the ones depending on them.

Telecom Outside Plant

Deep background in OSP construction across both metro and long-haul — dense urban fiber routes with congested utilities and tight restoration windows, and long-haul corridors that cross counties, highways, and waterways.

04

Oil & Gas

Energy-sector experience where tolerances, documentation, and safety culture are unforgiving — pipeline and distribution work, live-system awareness, and the discipline that heavy-regulated environments demand, carried into every job we run.

What We Build On

Three Principles, In the Ground and On Paper

01

Precision Engineering

Bore paths, diameters, and tolerances are engineered before a rig turns. Technical accuracy is the product.

02

Industrial Durability

We build for the systems that can't fail. Structural integrity and physical capacity are non-negotiable.

03

Safety & Visibility

High-contrast safety discipline, mirrored from the field to the metrics we publish. Measured, not claimed.

Safety, Environment & ESG

We Measure What We Manage

Safety at CS Underground is a measured, audited discipline — not a slogan. We track EMR and TRIR, train to trench-safety and HDD-operator certifications, and design every bore and dig to minimize surface and public exposure. Environmental restoration is scoped into the work, not bolted on after.
